Thank you for typing domain into the forum search box and for checking the active forum threads prior to posting. Thank you also for using descriptive titles on you posts as all support forum posts are “questions”. Thank you but will it cost ? to add my domain

Staff has said that domain mapping will be a paid upgrade option.

Paid or free — is it available?

If not, how can I keep track of the progress in it’s becoming available.

In the meantime, is running duplicate material in both blogs, wp.com and new url, counterproductive to reaching search engines. Do the two identical pages compete with each other or are they “rejected” by search engines?

    Thanks.

Suggestion: Always actually read the thread you’re posting in before asking questions. Those posts are there for a reason. :)

Answer from Andy in Post 3: It will be possible very soon.

When you first log into your blog, you arrive on your Dashboard. There is a listing of the most recent posts on the main WP.com blog for you to read. These will introduce you to new features and updates on important announcements as well. You can also view the main blog at the main site at http://wordpress.com

As to your second question, for the most part the answer is no but without knowing more information about your setup and where this second blog physical is compared to the wp.com boxes, we can’t give you an answer. It also depends on the search engine. SEO is beyond what this forum is for though.
