I am completely lost when it comes to wordpress. I am a developer but i havent developed in two years. From What I remember wordpress was amazing but this layout is confusing dumb down and I miss the old layout and how it actually felt like programming . I am tempted to just go back to dreamweaver and start to develop like that again. I feel this website has become like WIx Now and their is no room for developers like me

Hi, I am new to wordpress as well. Although not a developer myself, I was told to create my own portfolio/website for University. I did not use code, but just played around with wordpress for a few hours and got the hang of the basics: themes, creating categories, drop down menus/linking them together, etc. Although, it sounds like you are talking specifically about the coding side of wordpress and not just the basic basics?
