    Hello,

    You can continue using free plan as long as you do not feel the need for the variety of features that paid plans offers, such as using a custom domain (which you get free for a year when you purchase a plan), more storage, larger selection of themes, advanced customization, and many more.

    With the free plan, WordPress ads will be displayed, but with Premium and larger plans you can run your own ads and monetize your site.
