How many comments have you made on other blogs today?

On average, I receive one comment per seven hundred reads. Have you had seven hundred readers yet?

  • Unknown's avatar

I visited your blog. I’m visually challenged and that loud background is so overwhelming I couldn’t focus on your post content. I recommend getting rid of it.

You need to replace that “A topnotch WordPress.com site” Tagline with an effective Tagline that reveals your blog content > Settings > General
    http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2009/06/22/creating-an-effective-blog-tagline/

You don’t have an About page. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/04/06/why-about-pages-are-essential/

  • Unknown's avatar

timethief, I had change the background…although I do not agree that it was ” Loud “. That is who I am and ” My Peoples “. The topnotch…I do not know how to remove this.
I’ve been Driving Myself Nuts trying to get it off there :( This Lil Indan Girl is Quite New to this Sorta Stuff . Lil Indan isn’t trying to be a ‘ Nuisance ‘ :/
Oh yes, I do have ‘ An About Page ‘, 2 in fact, this is another thing that I do not Understand…On my blog r. hand corner go there & you’ll see that I have 2 pg’s. ???

raincoaster, I have had five, three Likes, two Comments. One of those comments did not show????? this has got me lost, I tried to find it…No Can Do. I Gave Up The Ghost. I have made Comments on Others.

  • Unknown's avatar

    How many?

Don’t expect a single comment until you’ve had 700 or so readers. You’ve had five.

To find the comments made on your blog, go to Dashboard->Comments and look there. It’s probably in the Spam folder, because most comments made are in fact spam.

  • Unknown's avatar

This is where I had found one of em. Just off of Courosity I went back there, there was nothing there??? I Dunno??? It would be Nice if these Comments didn’t wide up there.
S’pose I can check it out again.

  • Unknown's avatar

If they’re spam, that’s where they should go.

I am not visually impaired, but I am with Timethief about that background and text. You have created a design that will drastically decrease the number of reads and comments you get.

You would never buy a book that was that hard to read. Don’t make your readers work harder than you would.

There is not a thing Wrong with the Background. I had changed it once from ” My Wolves ” to what I have now. You would say the same thing if I put up ” Dream Catchers ” or ” My Great Grandfather Chief Joseph “, anything to do with My Peoples. How or can I ‘ Enlarge ‘ the Lettering? Is this at all Possible?

What I said had zero to do with First Nations art. Any busy and/or dark colored background reduces blog readability and distracts readers away from reading your content.

Changing fonts on WordPress.com blogs is not a matter of clicking a button. It’s not easy to do at all. These are 3 ways to change fonts on wordpress.com blogs:

    (1) Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the HTML (Text) editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/font-size-color/

    (2) Changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2

    (3) Changing all font families, colors and sizes throughout the whole blog by purchasing an annually renewable Custom Design upgrade and using Typekit Fonts with Staff support. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

Note: A few themes do provide for changing font color in the Blog Title and/or optional Tagline and/or links. In the majority of themes font changes to font families, colors and size in the blog title, tagline, menu, post titles, page titles, categories and tags, widget headings, comments, and links cannot be done without CSS editing.

Lem – Launch Slaxt Thank You Friend. Others for Many, Many Yrs. have always called us ” Native American Indians “. Una` Yes, I do ” Appreciate ” the way timethief had it :) :) :)

I have this HTML was not sure how to use it…I had gotten it from another site, it’s still on my machine. Perhaps if I knew how to use this HTML it might make it a Little Easier for me, maybe?????

White text on a bold multi-colored image populated background is nearly impossible to read, no matter the content of either.

Anything behind text should be muted and monochrome.

  • Unknown's avatar

English…Use words this Inda`n Girl can understand, Please. Me no Understand

    ” monochrome “???

I have not the Slightest Idea what your saying, other than at the beginning.

  • Unknown's avatar

    mono chrome

    one color

Doesn’t really matter which color as long as it contrasts (is significantly different than) the text.

    Examples:

White on black, or black on white.

    Dark blue on gray.

    Yellow on brown.

    Dark green on tan/beige.

Question for Staff or the the other posters……

Are nested table backgrounds supported here? One background for borders and another for the body behind the text?

  • Unknown's avatar

If you have any Backgrounds doing with My Peoples, I’ll consider Changing the Background I have up now???

  • Unknown's avatar

The thing is, backgrounds with pictures on them make words difficult to read. You could pick a theme that has a background with a picture but the actual posts have a white or dark background.

  • Unknown's avatar

coaster, you just gave me an idea for a Background. I’ll be working on that a little later.

  • Unknown's avatar

I have my New Background done and it is Up. I do hope that you
approve/like this one, my writings are easier to Read and See now.

There is nothing ” Loud ” about this one ither…
