Question about adding blog and saving current blog

    Wow, thanks. You purposefully make it really difficult to access help, although I understand why. In fact, when I was on the page in question, there was a, “contact us,” button, that did nothing when I clicked it.

    I have a WordPress blog and was thinking about adding a second one. I assumed it was still free. However, now it appears one must pay $25/yr for a bunch of stuff I don’t even understand, and there didn’t seem to be a way to opt out. If it is not free, then don’t make that claim.

    In addition, there was the requirement to provide address and phone, or have more money extorted. Most people really don’t want the general public to have their address and phone for purposes of spam calls or even the danger that someone who doesn’t like what you write might come after you. I don’t believe I needed to provide my address for my current blog. So, I suppose I could look into other free blog sites for my second blog, but it would be easier since I am already used to this one.

    Question 2: Is there any way I can back up my entire blog easily on a thumb drive? It seems tedious and not practical to need to back it up post by post – and I have around 150 articles.

    No. You can skip past all the “asking for money” things. As for address, put in a fake one. I never heard of them asking for it unless you wanted to register a custom domain, in which you must put in a real one or it’s illegal.

    Thanks so much. I will try again, as I skipped the other stuff was couldn’t find a way to opt out of 2 things that equal $25. I suspected things had changed since I began my first blog more than a year ago.

    Thanks for the info about backing up, as my son who knows computers couldn’t figure anything out.
