Question about Ads and Problems with Login, WordPress App, and Themes

I’m having multiple problems with WordPress. The first is just a question. Our site is for our student newspaper, and companies that advertise in our paper are interested in putting ads on our website as well. Any help about how I should do that? Also, I’m having a problem logging in because apparently our email is associated with two different usernames somehow, so when I log in using email instead of our username, it takes me to an account that has no website and a different (but similar) username. I can use the correct username to log in, but I can’t do that on the WordPress app because they only allow you to log in with your email. I have no idea how to fix this problem. Finally, I want our site to have a theme like the Color Mag theme, but when I try to use that theme, my site does not look at all like the theme, and I don’t even know where to start to try to fix that. I’m not very familiar with WordPress, and neither is anyone else on our staff, so I’m really struggling to figure this out on my own. Any suggestions?
