  Should I transfer my domain, or map my domain?

  It’s good to have your domain and site managed in one place with no need to manually configure DNS records at another domain provider.

  Hi pmpdesigns2000,

  Just adding to the information @labifrancis provided. The decision will partly depend on whether you want to keep the domain registered with your existing provider and continue renewing through them each year — which you would need to do with the domain mapping option.

  Or whether you want to renew the domain through WordPress.com going forward and manage that and the site from one place.
