Question about “edit page” button
-
I just started using WordPress and have a question. I posted my first blog and at the bottom of the blog there are 2 icons, one is for comments, the other is and “edit page” icon.. I don’t want this edit page icon to be there and can’t seem to find where to change it or turn it off?
thanks!!!!!!!!

You’re the only one who sees the edit link and only when you’re signed in and not looking at a cached copy.

Some themes don’t have the ‘edit page’ icon. If it’s something which really bothers you, you can go to design—>themes, and select a new one. You can preview the themes before choosing the final one, so that you can see if ‘edit page’ is part of that theme. Also, realize that ‘edit page’ only shows on your end, not to the blog surfer/reader.

well a buddy of mine just went to my blog on his computer for the first time and it shows that icon.. and i’ve never been logged on to the blog on that computer.. so it must just be a part of the theme..
wish there was a way to change it : (thanks a bunch!

That’s what I suspected. It’s neither a wordpress.com blog nor a theme available here. You need to be at http://wordpress.org/support

that confuses me? I installed WP from my CPANEL through my host?
it’s not a wordpress blog?
thanks! -
It is a worpress blog, but it’s a wordpress.org blog not a wordpress.com blog. If you click on the link which ellaella provided, they have support which can help you.
