Question about gravatars and e-mail address

  Hi, relatively new to WordPress, and there are two issues that are making me scratch head right now. I have a Gravatar, I can see on the user->your profile page in my dashboard. Yet, when I comment, search for my blog on the WordPress search engine, my avatar still shows as the generic mosaic like avatar… am I missing something? Also, my e-mail address for my blog is the one I have now. The one corresponding to my username is an old address I would like to get rid of, yet when I try to change it, it says it is already in use (I’m assuming it is in use by me because my blog email address is the correct one). What is the difference between these two designations, also, why can’t I change my user e-mail address to the same one as my blog e-mail address?

  Gravatars take some time to upload, usually showing up first in the forums. How long have you had the avatar?

  It should definitely have shown up. There was a Gravatar issue a few days back, though; you might want to rename the file on your computer and then re-upload it. That sometimes clears these things up; be sure to rename it, otherwise Gravatar gets confused.

  I might suggest trying the upload directly at http://en.gravatar.com. Go there while logged into wordpress and then choose “add an image” from your accounts menu at the top left. It seems to work better from there recently.

  k, I’ll try that because the WordPress Gravatar uploader is acting up on me at the moment. Any ideas about my other problem?

  disregard the second question. It is now resolved. I forgot about my other account and is now in the process of fixing that, thanks thesacredpath for reminding me and thanks for all the input so far.

  Hi!
  I would like to hide the gravatars in my blog comments. I would like only to include the nicknames. Is that possible? how?
