Question about guided transfer

So i’m planning on doing a guided transfer, and moving my site over to wordpress.org. The only problem is I purchased the Gridpsace premium theme a few days ago, and know it’s not transferable. I was wondering what the better course of action is. Should I return the theme, get my money back, do the transfer and then rebuy it? Or if I just disable the theme during the transfer will I be able to use it when I get over to wordpress.org?

    Hi there,

Premium themes purchased here at WordPress.com can’t be transferred over when you move, so even if you disable the theme during the transfer you won’t be able to use it on your self-hosted site.

Since you’re still in the refund period, your best bet is to cancel the theme purchase for a full refund (under Store > My Upgrades in your site’s dashboard). I can also help you with that step, if you’d like — you’ll just need to switch to another theme on your site before the refund can go through.

Then, you can purchase the self-hosted version of the theme:

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
