question about having 8 homepages

  hello my name is nahni, im looking for a homepage for our church. our church has 8 daughter churches and they need a page too. all 9 homepages need the same design but not the same admin. so it is possible to order one paket and have 8 till 10 pages with 8 till 10 domains and so on?or do we need for every church a extra page and a extra account and a extra contract? thank you for your help.

  Hi Nahni,

  If you require a custom domain (e.g. http://www.example.com) for each of the churches’ sites, then you have to purchase individual upgraded plan for each of these sites and register the domains for them.

  Though I have an idea with a cheaper option that needs a Staff confirmation whether this is feasible or not. (I have added a modlook tag for Staff comment)

  You can create the first site on WordPress.com as the main church’s website and upgrade it to a paid plan to register a domain (e.g. http://www.example.com). Each of the paid plans comes with a free credit to allow you to register the domain without any added fees.

  Register a New Domain

  Then create more sites for each of the daughter churches and purchase a domain upgrade ($13 per year per site) for each of these daughter churches sites to use a subdomain (e.g. http://church1.example.com, http://church2.example.com).

  Regarding administrators, the account that owns the first site will be the owner of all the sites but you can add users as administrators to manage the individual sites.

  Hi there,

  I’m afraid that staff-zara’s suggestion will not work as you need a plan for each site even if you map to a subdomain.

  The best way to proceed is to create a WordPress.com account, create all the sites under that account and purchase individual plans for each site. Then each individual site administrator will have to create a WordPress.com account and be added as an administrator to the site that they’ll manage.
