Question about hosting purchased from wordpress.com

  I have purchased my domain name and my hosting for 1 year through wordpress.com, but I would like to use wordpress.org to have more customizable options. Since I have purchased hosting and the domain name through this site, can I use wordpress.org now, or do I have to have my site be hosted by another company before I can use it?

  PS: My domain name is http://www.joshuaporch.com but the “Blog URL” option down below only has “joshuaporch.wordpress.com” so I just wanted to clarify that to you guys so there is no confusion.

  Hi there,

  You would have to change your host if you wanted to move to WordPress.org. We have a few recommended hosts that you can find here.

  As for the domain itself, you would continue to pay for domain registration for joshuaporch.com through WordPress.com since we are the registrar for your host.
