Question about how Site Redirect works
-
Hello,
I have a question about how the site redirect works for wordpress.com. The instructions here https://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/ indicate that “the redirect will try to find a post on your new site that matches the post URL from your WordPress.com site, but some visitors may see an error message indicating that no matching blog post could be found”
If I redirect my site to http://www.newsite.com/blog does that mean the redirect will send everything to the blog page on the new site? Or alternatively will it try to match the posts- http://www.newsite.com/blog/yyyy/mm/dd/postname?
Thanks for any clarification you can provide!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

A site redirect upgrade redirects every URL in a site to the same content at the new URL seamlessly, provided the permalink structure is identical to the wordpress.COM permalink structure.
