Question about importing old blog onto new but keeping it hidden?

  Hi, I have recently set up a new blog. I want to delete my old blog but save the contents (I have exported the xml file onto my desktop). I don’t want the contents to show up on my new blog but I would like to import them and keep them hidden so that they don’t show up – is this easy to do in one/two steps, or will I have to manually go through and hide each entry, post-by-post, once I have imported?

  The reason is because I want to delete my old blog entirely but keep the contents on my new blog – but hidden, so that I don’t lose them and everything is all together still.

  You can use Bulk Edition in Posts and/or Pages dashboards, selecting new contents and changing their status to Private or to Draft.

  If you intend to keep the old posts “hidden” in your new blog, if you do intend to make that blog public then you will have to edit and change the published status of all the old posts to “private”. To be honest with you I would not do what you are doing. I would make the old blog and the content in it “private” instead.
