Question about monetizing

    First, I’d like to thank you in advance for help with my question.

    I read through your monetization rules on the WordPress.com help center. I understand that only certain affiliate links are allowed as well as selling your own products. However, the blog I want to start is local. I was curious if I would be able to place advertising for local businesses? Also, I’m looking to sell personally written books. If my book is on Amazon.com, would I be able to place an Amazon affiliate link or would I have to link to it some other way?

    I don’t want to violate any terms of conditions.

    No it would not be possible to place local advertising on your site.

    You are able to use Amazon Affiliate links to promote your own books.
