Question about moving my website to wordpress

    Hi,

I have a website that is currently hosted in azure at http://www.auroranovagame.com. It is insanely expensive and I’d like to move it to a service like WordPress. But I can’t find information around whether WordPress allows me to host a completely custom website, or if I am required to build the website from a provided template.

If it is possible, can you like me to information on how I would import a .NET, C#, MVC website to WordPress?

    Regards,
    Tim

  • Hi Tim!

It really depends on the features you made with those tools. In most cases, I’d recommend migrating the content and pages over (copying and pasting or devising an import tool depending on the size of the site), and then setting up the theme and its features within WordPress. How closely you decide to match the new site to the old one will really depend on your needs and priorities.

Based on what I can see (looks like a fun site and cool game!) you could build a site here with a similar style, or even have our team build it for you to give you a head start.

You could probably even add the same effects, though that would take custom code and possibly some plugins. If you’ve got a bunch of other intense functionality behind the scenes, let us know what the site needs to do and we can advise.
