Question about Pictorico Theme and license

I downloaded your theme: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/pictorico/
Can I delete from footer your credits?
If not, what can I do to delete it? Maybe I can translate that theme into polish? I just do not want to pay…Regards,

Why would you do that? Doing so implies that you are the web designer ie. the creator of the theme and that is not the case. It seems to me if you use someone elses intellectual property free of charge the very least you can do is leave the theme credit links as is.

Removing the footer is a violation of our Terms of Service (under point 11):
Attribution. Automattic reserves the right to display attribution links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com,’ theme author, and font attribution in your blog footer or toolbar. Footer credits and the WordPress.com toolbar may not be altered or removed regardless of upgrades purchased.
You can try tweaking it with some custom CSS if you like, but it needs to remain readable.

I found out that this theme was written in a really simple way and I will write such a theme on my own. -
