Question about Pingbacks

I’ve read up on this but still am not quite sure.. when you receive “comments” which aren’t actual comments on your posts, it’s the pingbacks (I know what these are), you don’t want to approve them to your comments because it’s not actual comments, but if you send them to trash, it doesn’t cause any problems with the link you/another blogger has added, right? That will still work, it just doesn’t let them show up in the comments? Also, is it good to stop pingbacks and how do you do that if so? Thank you!

Yes, you can delete them without consequences. Yes, you can can stop self-pings. Yes, you can disable all pingbacks. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/comments/pingbacks/
