Question about plugins

  I downloaded the wordpress file from wordpress.org and I have downloaded some plugins. Do I need to register a domain name for my wordpress blog in order to use the plugins? I appreciate any help you can give me.

  There is no FTP access to wordpress.com blogs and we cannot upload themes or plugins or anything else into them. There is no upgrade we can purchase that allows us to use plugins on wordpress.com blogs.

  Please read this entry so you clearly understand the differences between free blog being free hosted by wordpres.com like the one linksed to your username and free software from wordpress.org for self hosting.
