Question about plugins
-
Ok I am a WP noob so apologies right off the bat for that… I am wondering what I need to do to use plugins on my current site? Do I just need to go premium and I will have access to them or do I have to go host it somewhere else to use them?
Thank you in advance!

Yes. You will need to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set you your own WordPress.org software install to install any plugins.
There is no FTP access and no plugin capability on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/All blogger initiated JavaScript is stripped out by the software to preserve security on this multiuser blogging platform.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/There is no upgrade you can purchase that changes anything at all stated here http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ FTP access, and plugins are available only for VIP bloggers http://vip.wordpress.com/our-services/ or for those with WordPress.ORG installs.

So just going premium doesn’t help me I have to go get a hosting site? What about using someone like GoDaddy?

YES.

Look above an notice I already posted the link for recommended hosting http://wordpress.org/hosting/
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different log-ins. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
