Question about static pages

  • Unknown's avatar

I figured out how to add static pages, but now I find that the sidebar from my main blog page is common to all the static pages.

Is there a way to have different, i.e., unique content for the sidebar on each static page?

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • There is not a way to have multiple sidebars show on different pages.

You have control over the page template. The template of a page lets you determine if a page has a side bar , does not have a sidebar, and the position of the sidebar on a per page bases. This setting is found under Templates in the Page Attributes area of the page screen.

Bummer. Seems to defeat the whole purpose of static pages.

No, different sidebar content on different pages is now possible. You add all the widgets to the sidebar area in Appearance > Widgets, then you click the Visibility tab of each widget: select “Show” in the first pulldown, select “Page” in the second pulldown, select title of page in the third pulldown, click Save.

Everytime I post my link to my blog on another site it plugs a static page I don’t remember making a static page and now can’t take it off. How do I change it?
