Question about student rates

    Hello.
    I am a grad student at the University of Central Florida.
    I am inquiring to see if wordpress offers a student rate for a wordpress pro subscription.
    I am wanting to transfer my current domain name (via name.com & used with a google site) over to wordpress. I just renewed the domain name (May), and I paid in full for the year. Please adivse. ~Joanie. (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    Hi Joanie, we don’t have student rates at this time, but we do sometimes send coupons by email if you’d like to watch for that.

    Regarding the domain: you can choose to connect it to our service and keep it at the current registrar, or transfer it when you buy your plan. That will add another year to its registration.

    Any hosting you paid for would not be transferred over, though, so just be mindful of that. If you want to use your existing hosting, you might check to see if they’ll support your own self-managed copy of WordPress there. Here’s the difference:
