Question about switching themes
-
I was checking out a preview of my blog with the Viligance theme and I don’t see any of my widgets on the preview and I’m a little worried about losing them all if I switch over. Also, I’ve seen that on some blogs that use Viligance, the sidebar has double columns of widgets… Is that css customized? Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No it’s not customized. Vigilance has a wide side bar at the top and two narrow sidebars below it. Before switching your theme drag and drop your existing widgets into the Inactive widgets box. When you switch the theme will have a dispaly of default widgets – they all do. Go here Appearance > Widgets and drag and drop the widgets you saved in the Inactive widgets box into the sidebars of your choice. Open them all and click “Cave” and then “Close”.
Also note that Vigilance has a custom header and the options of changing background color strips on the sides of the theme, border colors, links colors and link hover colors. You will find these here > Appearance > Vigilance options after your change to that theme.

…You mean if I drag my widgets back over into the unused widget sections, they wont be deleted, they’ll be saved til I make the theme switch?

The Inactive Widgets box is under the Active Widgets box.
Drag and drop the widgets you are using now into the Inactive Widgets box.
After you change themes drag and drop them where you want them in the sidebar box. -
