Question About Tags

I have a two part question about tags for my blog http://www.ifantasyrace.wordpress.com.

    1) Can you turn off tags displaying in posts and how do you do it?

    2) If its possible to stop displaying tags in a post would it have a negative impact on you when google crawls your site?

    Thanks in advance.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

for displaying off the tag option in posts…go to –>dashboard–>in apperance there will be a option”theme options”….go there and there will be many things to control for your blog…find that option and update…..

BUT WHY WANNA TURN OF TAGS??IT’S VERY DUMB THING….THEN YOUR BLOG’S CHANCE WOULD BE LESS[OR NONE] FOR COMING ON “FREASHLY PRESSED”….
JUST DONT TURN OFF……IT’S ONE OF TH BEST THINGS IN A BLOG

@ifantasyrace: The reply above is incorrect. a) The only theme with an option to hide tags from posts is iNove. b) If you use that theme and hide the tags, they won’t display on the blog page but they will remain listed in the source code of the posts, so no difference re search engines etc.

I knew I seen the option to turn off tags before. I had the iNove theme for quite a while and earlier today I switched to the new Bueno theme. From what I see in the new Bueno theme I’m going to guess its not an option. It’s a good theme, but its one thing I wish I could hide.

    Thanks everyone

No, turning off Tags in the Bueno theme, which I have been exploring in my test blog all morning is not an option. Categories display below the posts in their own little section and tags are included at the end the posts.

As my blog gas a large archive of content and does get traffic from the global tags pages I don’t consider the display of tags to be problematic. I think it’s primarily new bloggers who have yet to create a large archives posts that are concerned about the display of tags as readers may click them and leave the blog. Is that what gives rise to your concern?

The main thing I don’t like about it is that at times I get aggressive with tagging. My site is a fantasy sports related so the shelf life on my content essentially ends every week. I guess its more a aesthetic thing for me.

Aha … now I understand where you are coming from. Thanks for replying to me. :)
