Question about themes using WordPress.com
-
Hello,
I know the difference between wordpress.com and wordpress.org
I have two questions.
1. Where are the hosting packages? Is a monthly plan or yearly?
I already own the domain. Do you have packages for multiple domains?2. I see you have theme “Funki” by themify. I happen to be a ‘club member” member at themify and have all the themes, would I have to purchase them separately here? One is $129 just for the theme.
3. On wordpress.com (your own URL) can you install plug ins?
4. Are only wordpress.com users permitted to sign up for wordads? A publisher.

1. WordPress.com does not sell hosting, but we do have paid plans for extra features: https://store.wordpress.com/plans/
If you already own your domain, you can map it here following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
2. If you wish to use a premium theme on your WordPress.com blog, it has to be purchased through WordPress.com: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/sort/premium/
3. We don’t allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons. Plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org. You can find out more about this topic here: http://support.wordpress.com/plugins/
However, we do have several built-in features that were inspired by many popular plugins. You might find what you want by searching for it at http://en.support.wordpress.com/
4. WordAds is only available to the blogs hosted at WordPress.com. We are currently working on a plugin for WordPress.org sites, which we’ll announce at http://wordads.co/blog/ when ready.

Many blogs are hosted by WordPress and have different registrars, i say that b/c I see they have wordads, so they have to be hosted by you, no?
You said on #4 ” WordAds is only available to the blogs hosted at WordPress.com.”
So I guess if you own themes already such as the one I mentioned in original question, i would have to repurchase it through you all? LOLWordPress.com,
You all are AWESOME, just wish you were relaxed on somethings or I would “map my domains” (not “host”) in a second. -
Clarification–
When I said; Many blogs are hosted by WordPress and have different registrars, i say that b/c I see they have wordads, so they have to be hosted by you, no?
I meant .com domains not .wordpress.com

One more question if I may?
the enterprise plan, I know you say you don’t have “hosting” but would you map your domain to wordpresss? In other words, wouldn’t have to have another host?
Also, for the enterprise plan, is there a min or max amount of traffic a domain can or should or need to have? So sorry for all the questions. -
Many blogs are hosted by WordPress and have different registrars, i say that b/c I see they have wordads, so they have to be hosted by you, no?
No one *has* to be hosted by WordPress.com. https://WordPress.com is the hosted blog service, and https://WordPress.org is the software you can host yourself elsewhere.
So I guess if you own themes already such as the one I mentioned in original question, i would have to repurchase it through you all?
I’m not sure what you mean by that, but if you’re at WordPress.com, there are 320 themes available, and 180 are free: https://theme.wordpress.com/
I know you say you don’t have “hosting” but would you map your domain to wordpresss?
You can map your own domain if you have already registered it elsewhere: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
Also, for the enterprise plan, is there a min or max amount of traffic a domain can or should or need to have?
No, you can join Enterprise at any time: https://en.wordpress.com/enterprise/

Like I said in original question,
. I see you have theme “Funki” by themify. I happen to be a ‘club member” member at themify and have all the themes, would I have to purchase them separately here? One is $129 just for the theme.
You answered;

Of course no has to have wordpress as a host, what I was asking originally, I know you can own your own domain and still be a wordpress.com customer meaning use word ads etc (all the things wordpress.com customers and free blogs have) I was just curious if you had hosting plans. I know you can “map” a domain, it would then run off your servers, no? P.S. your servers are awesome. I go on sites that are mapped to wordpress and they run great.

If you blog on WordPress.com with your own custom domain, you are still blogging on WordPress.com, so you would need to re-purchase that theme if you wanted to use it here.
