Question about upgrading my plan

I already have a personal plan but was wanting to upgrade to the next level ($96.00/year). I’ve already paid for the cheap personal one but the system wants to charge me the full price to upgrade. Shouldn’t I just be able to pay the difference instead of the full amount?

Hi there,
If you want to upgrade from personal plan to Premium or Business Plan, then you will have to pay only the difference between your current plan and the plan you are upgrading too.
but the system wants to charge me the full price to upgrade
Make sure your current plan is still active and not expired, you can refer below link on how to check,

The account you’re using to post here does not own any upgrades on WordPress.com. You used to have a Personal Plan, but that plan expired in January and was removed from your account because you did not renew it.
