Question about Upgrading to Premium
-
I just had a few questions about upgrading to premium. First, if I upgraded and had an actual domain name, would my current domain (exoffenders.wordpress.com) automatically redirect there? Also, how would this affect my search engine rankings.
The second question I had was regarding WordAds. I seem to get around 2k views @ around 850ish visitors lately. Would this be enough to qualify for the WordAds program, or do I need higher traffic?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

That’s exactly what domain mapping does. Read this for a better understanding of the process > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/04/02/do-i-need-a-domain/
In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from. If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.
See here if you do not own a domain http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

WordPress.com blogs cannot be equipped for eCommerce transactions. If you need a site that requires a custom theme or plugins — e.g., if you want to be able to sell things directly from your site, or if you want to install discussion forums — a self-hosted WordPress site might be right for you. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
