hi everyone! i’m feeling very lost. Just paid for a domain at wordpress and i wanna customise how my website will look like. the themes that are given in wordpress and not too customizable. is there any them that looks somewhat like this?

    http://www.jansenchua.com/

i need something that has a drop down. Notice how the “expatriates” button will drop down?

Must i pay wordpress a certain amount of money to upgrade the “CSS” option before my website can look more professional?

    thks in advance.

There are a few themes that have dropdown navigation menus: iNove, Inuit Types, Monochrome, Neutra, Sandbox 1.6.1, and Titan might be worth a look.

You could purchase the CSS upgrade and edit the styling yourself but if you have no prior knowledge of HTML or CSS I would not recommend it. There are volunteers on the forum who can help but no-one will do it for you.

Definitely check out the themes above and see if any of them will work for your blog, then you don’t have to worry about CSS at all.

The free themes you see on the internet are for wordpress.org software and we cannot use them on wordpress.com blogs.

There are 86 themes you can use found here > Appearance > Themes and they are the only themes that can be used on wordpress.com blogs.

You can use the search utility and Feature Filters in your Dashboard > Appearance > Browse Themes > Feature Filters to locate themes of interest to you. (A-Z, Popular, Features)

Each theme has a thumbshot and a features summary description. You can browse and when you find one of interest you can click “Preview”. When you are ready to make your selection you can click “Activate”.

The two latest additions to themes called Inuit Types and Under the Influence do have customizable options.
