Question RE: removing domain mapping
-
I recently removed mapping to an external domain from my wordpress site, nathanaelhjones.wordpress.com
I am trying to map the same domain to a non-wordpress site, however, when I enter the domain name, it still automatically redirects me to the wordpress site that it was originally associated with. It seems to work differently on some computers and particularly browsers. For instance, browsers that I have previously visited the site with have more of a problem than browsers that I have not used to visit the site.
I’m wondering if this is typical in a case like this, and if I need to take any further action? I have read that domain mapping/unmapping can take 24-48 hours to be fully functional, but I am wondering if these are typical symptoms of a partially functional domain? The domain name in question is nathanaelhjones.com
Please let me know if I need to take any action, or if this is a typical problem that will correct itself automatically.
Thank you!
