Question Re Transfer

  Hi, I currently have a domain name that is registered with GoDaddy and I use Squarespace for web hosting. How would I go about making a transfer to WordPress?

  I would like to try a premium subscription but I want to make sure I understand the process of how it will work first.

  Hi theangeleheath,

  Sure, I can point you in the right direction. If you want to transfer the content and domain to WordPress.com, this would be the process:

  1. Export your content from Squarespace (as an .xml file)
  2. Import that content in to WordPress.com
  3. Map or transfer the domain to WordPress.com once you are ready to make the switch

  Mapping will be the better option if you want to keep the domain registered with GoDaddy. But transferring will be better if you want to manage the site and domain through one account and renew it through us each year.
