Question regarding cancelled Domain…
-
I have cancelled my site/ domain name, but would like to still use the domain through a host. The issue is that says its still mapped to wordpress, is there anyway I can get this back?

Hi there,
If you cancel a domain you stop owning it, and you can’t use it anywhere any more. Cancelled domains are not released immediately and there’s no guarantee you’ll ever be able to register a cancelled domain again, so if you still wanted to use it you instead could have pointed it to the other provider, and transferred it there once you’d owned it for 60 days.
Your domain will not be released until after it expires in May next year, but I can still restore it for you, and then I can help you point it to a different hosting provider. Please confirm if I should do that.
As you’d deleted your WordPress.com site, I’ll also need you to create a new free site in your account. I need to connect the domain to a site in your account, otherwise you won’t be able to access the domain’s settings.

Hi Kokkieh,
Yes I would like you to do that for me please.
I have now created the wordpress site and my host provider is Go Daddy.
Let me know if you need anything else.

Okay, I’ve restored the domain and connected it to the new site in your account.
To point the domain to GoDaddy, you’ll need to ask them for their name servers. You can then add those on this page:
https://wordpress.com/domains/manage/rodthefella.com/name-servers/rodthefellacom.wordpress.com
The domain should start showing your GoDaddy site within 72 hours after doing that.
