Question regarding domain

  Hi there,
  I’ve got a WordPress blog that I’ve run for some time. Now, I would like to create a professional website through WordPress with a unique domain name and have the blog as a component of that site. Do I need to create a new account in order to do this, and transfer my blog over? Am I overcomplicating this? Thanks for any assistance…

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You could do it like that, but instead why don’t you just upgrade your plan?

  IF you want jeromyhopgood.com/blog/org as your domain name then you are halfway there. If not, you will need to change the name of your blog. to match (jeromyhopgood.wordpress.com into zzz.wordpress.com) then you would have to change the name of your blog (make sure it’s available!)

  IF you are asking to kind of start over and keep jeromyhopgood.wordpress.com then you could export all the blog entries, media etc that are important to you, empty out the site, and start over. When you have the framework to your satisfaction, import the content back into your new site.

  Lots of reading there i know, but looking at your site i get the impression you are up to this :-)

  Dave,
  Thanks for the thoughts. So, to make sure I’ve got this correct. If I were to upgrade my account, the domain would be jeromyhopgood.com? I was hoping to drop the WordPress part out of it and give a more simplified domain name.

  Hi Jeromy
  That is exactly right. If you are happy with your site (i think it rocks!) as is and just want to get rid of the .wordpress part of the name, an upgraded plan comes with a domain which allows you to do just that.
