  Can embedded tweets be resized? See this for example, I’d like to reduce the size of this box.

  That is theme dependent and embedded tweets cover the whole column. [For example, in WPTouch mobile theme, it’s just 240px wide, however in full site view, it’s relatively wider and is about 3 times than former.]
