Question – why does one regular commenter always get flagged as spam?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi.

I have a regular reader who comments on my blog. Every single comment by that readerm, without exception, gets flagged as spam (not comment held for moderation – straight to spam). I have gone into the spam folder and marked them as not spam and then approved them for publishing on at least 4 or 5 occasions over the last month or so. But for some reason the system refuses to learn and allow their comments through.

I feel bad for this person as they are not doing anything dodgy, their comments are thoughtful and interesting, and for some reason it looks like WordPress just hates them! I get other comments that ARE clearly spammy put into the moderation queue so I don’t know what is going on.

Is this happening to anyone else? Has anyone solved this?

    Thanks

    Hi,

seems like an issue with Akismet, a comment spam filtering service, that WordPress.com (and many more sites) is using:

I would recommend you to report your problem directly to their team:

    Hope that it helps.

You’re welcome. I’m sure they will help you out, Akismet is great.
