questionable email subscribers

I have had blog with WordPress for about 3 years now, but have pretty much fallen off the wagon in terms of posting lately. AKA, I haven’t posted anything at all since early fall 2017. Yet now all of the sudden I’m getting all these emails about new people who have subscribed to follow my blog via email (about 30 in the last 3 months, compared to my previous 5 over 3 years). In theory this is great, except for the part where my blog has essentially been dormant for the last 8 months, all of the email addresses are kind of gibberish (save for a few plausible sounding names) and all of the email are ‘@outlook.com’ In summary, this whole thing seems weird and spammish to me and I am wondering what anyone else thinks about it.
