question….new to blogging

  • Unknown's avatar

    hey,

i have 2 blogs that are on the same “dashboard.” is it possible to make one visible to others and the other completely hidden? i’d be able to see them both but i want a place to jot down thoughts without them being public. but i still want the original blog to be seen by those who read it normally. is this possible? i want to be sure before i start posting stuff on the new blog.

    thanks. i’m a newbie!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    my dashboards (top left)
    manage blogs
    mouse over “dashboard/visible”
    click “hide”

Actually what you want to do is to set the blog you do not want visible to the public to private at settings > privacy. Make sure the dashboard for the blog you want to set to private is active when you do that.

What John suggests will only hide it in the dashboard list of blogs (my dashboard in the top grey admin bar), not from people on the internet.

    Thank you for clarifying!

    You’re welcome.

Also, for those that might want to reorder the blogs in the “my dashboard” pulldown in the grey admin bar, hover your mouse over the blog name in dashboard > my blogs and a down arrow and up arrow will appear. Clicking down will move that blog down in the list, and clicking up will move it up in the list one line at a time. I just reordered mine to put the two I use most at the top.

I think will be fine if WP will create a new feature to show vistors permit blog visitors that blog admin is online.
