    I already have a domain name with GoDaddy that is paid through next year Feb. So, if I buy the $48. annual plan with wordpress and point that domain to you folks, will my website be mybestfrienddoggroomer.wordpress.com? or, http://www.mybestfrienddoggroomer.com? Also, your ad says that the $4. per month includes 1 year of domain registration, so does that ad on to my current registration already paid to GoDaddy and extend my domain into 2024? You do have templates correct to quickly get the site up and running? Thanks!

    Hi Ken,

    If you buy any paid plan, you’ll be able to connect that domain to your site using our Domain Connection upgrade, and with that you can have your site display at your custom domain, instead of the free example.wordpress.com address.

    No. Nothing you buy from us will have any effect on your domain registration at GoDaddy.

    The free domain included in our annual plans can be used to register one brand new domain with us, or if you wanted you could transfer your existing domain registration from GoDaddy to us, so that we become your domain provider instead of them. In that case the domain is renewed for another year.

    But if you just use the Domain Connection upgrade, rather than a domain transfer, the domain registration remains with GoDaddy, and the free domain included in your plan will remain available in your account until you decide to use it for a different domain.

    Yep. You should already have had the option to select a theme when you created your site, but you can also change that at any time from Appearance ->Themes in the dashboard. Our newer themes include an option to automatically create a copy of the theme’s demo homepage on your site when you activate it as well.

    And when you create a new page on your site, you can select from a variety of pre-built page layouts that already include the blocks to create a particular layout, which you can then just fill in with your own content:
