questions about blog transfer

I have 2 blogs hosted on wordpress.com. I just recently launched another on a privately hosted site. What I would like to do is use the API key from my wordpress.com account to access some plugins. I do not wish to keep my two old blogs. I essentially want to “downgrade” my account to just a username and API key.
I found directions on each of these things individually, but I just wanted to make sure I am taking the best route…

You can set the blogs here to private and just leave them sleeping if you wish. This is something I usually suggest just in case you would want to resurrect them at a later date for some reason. Once you delete a blog here, you can never get the same URL back again. WordPress does not reinstate or recycle blog URL’s.
If you are sure you want to delete the blogs, then while the dashboard of the blog you want to delete is active, go to settings > delete blog and follow the instructions. You will get an email confirmation with a link you have to click to finish the process. Do that for each blog you want to delete.
