Questions about connecting & transferring my domain

    Hi, I’m trying to migrate my website from Squarespace to WordPress. I see there are two options: transferring and connecting my domain.

    1. If I connect my domain to WordPress, can I still build my website using WordPress website builder and use Plugins?

    2. Can I connect my domain first (since it looks like a simple option) and then transfer my domain later?

    When you sign up for a new site, we give you a free subdomain (*.wordpress.com) that you can use to start building your new site.

    Here’s a guide that will help you migrate your site to WordPress.com:

    If you need to use plugins on your site, you will need to upgrade to a Business or higher plan and you’ll have the free *.wpstaging.com domain to start building your new site. You can decide whether to connect or transfer your domain at that time.
