Questions about migrating to WordPress.com Business from old server

  I’m interested in using WordPress.com’s Business hosting service and would like to check on some details.

  Here’s my current situation:

  I have a WordPress site hosted on another server running Plesk 12.5 and PHP 5, both of which are very old versions. The website doesn’t support SSL. I’m unable to install any migration plugins, but I can export the WordPress content in XML format and I have all the images from my WordPress site. Is this sufficient to migrate manually?

  After I move the WordPress site to WordPress.com, will I be able to keep all the view records in Jetpack?

  I also have my own domain. How can I continue using it with WordPress.com?

  We can definitely host your content here at WordPress.com. Manually migrating is a good idea in this case, since it seems you might have an old theme and possibly other settings that will make the automated migration with a plugin more difficult.
  
  Here’s how you could handle the manual migration:
  
  1- Import the .XML into a new WordPress.com site. When you create a site, we’ll create a staging site address for you. Export your content from the original site and import it into the new site. This should bring all your content (posts, pages, images).
  
  2- After the import, you’ll probably need to make some adjustments like setting up the theme, possibly setting up the navigation, and any other setting you might want to configure before starting to use your custom domain.
  
  3- At this point, you can contact us at help@wordpress.com, and we can merge your stats from your self-hosted site (connected with JetPack) to the new site here at WordPress.com.
