Questions about MODULARITY LITE
-
Dear CSS experts
(calling devblog or hallluke!) ;)
I am wanting to switch to the new (very cool) MODULARITY LITE but I had a few quickie questions regarding what you can and cannot do with a paid CSS Upgrade here.
1.) wanted to know if I can add a custom logo (.jpg or whatever is needed) over top of the current blog title (top left hand corner)
2.) also to change (or better yet hide or remove the blog “tag”) wording (top left hand side) “just another wordpress etc.”
3.) Not sure if you noticed that Graph Paper Press has another Theme called reg. MODULARITY which the “Lite” is based off of?
http://graphpaperpress.com/demo/?themedemo=modularity
*I would like to be able to add the horizontal “magazine style” picture blocks for new posts like it’s shown in the link and wonder if that could be edited or added via CSS please.
I know Graph Paper are selling “Child Theme” upgrades that will allow you to do that stuff but it’s expensive and outside of WP.
Thank you for your time and take care.

You mean to replace the blog title rather than just using the Appearance > Header option? Yes this is definitely possible with CSS. The second bit can be done without the upgrade, go to Settings > General and delete the tag line and re-save. The third unfortunately can’t be achieved automatically with just CSS.

yes, I want my Demolish logo exactly where the current blog title is.
Something like this:
Check the bands logo top left.
*Thanks for the help.

Check out this page on CSS image replacement, technique number three is the one I use most often. The title is in a div element with the id “masthead” if it helps.

Well, there doesn’t seem to be much info and or help floating around regarding this theme.
Here is what I recently founded for image/centering bugs and custom logo insert work arounds:

That link leads you to a discussion on the wordpress.org theme where you can modify the underlying PHP code, we can’t do this here at wordpress.com. To replace your title text with an image try the code below changing the uppercase text with appropriate values.
#blog-title {text-indent:-9999em; height:IMAGE_HEIGHTpx; background-image:url("IMAGE_URL");}lh

how do I add more images in the slide show? I put 6 there in the dir:
wp-content/themes/modularity-lite/images/slideshowbut the javascript shows only 5 images (rotating on the front page).
I did not find where to define how many images in the files…thanks…bees

Oops! You failed to post the complete URL starting with the http:// prefix for the blog to which you are referring and there is no blog linked to your username. Also this thread is in the CSS csutomization forum. So sre your posting about a free blog from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM, and id do then have you purchased the CSS upgrade?

In CSS how can you remove the floating layer that is transparent and sits above the background image?
-
If that question was vague- sorry. I am also using Modularity Lite. I have a background image in place. In the CSS or design of the theme there seems to be a trans layer overtop the background. How can I get rid of this. I currently have not yet subscribed to CSS editing but will if it will allow me to remove this layer- it causes everything to look dark. This looks nice on some designs but not mine- see here : http://www.fengshuiflorida.com Thank you!

.container {background-image:none;}You can preview the change before you decide to splash out on the upgrade just to make sure that it works.

Hey Luke, there is another thread about hiding page titles. I got them most of the way there, but not all the way.

Hello, I am interested in the same issue as nancy3477 above, where I would like to remove my Modularity Lite transparent container. I have purchased the CSS editing feature. However, while I have tried both:
.container {background-image:none;}and also.container {background-image:none;}, neither seems to remove the dark container. The blog is: http://projectgriffintown.wordpress.com Thanks for any suggestions you can give! -

Ok, for some reason, the CSS edits only appeared once I’d logged out of WP and logged in again (ie: the preview function wasn’t working). Thanks and sorry for the unnecessary posts!
