Questions about moving my blog over to Self Hosted WP Site
-
Hi there:
I’ve had my blog for almost five years now and created it on the free WP site. I once tried hiring someone to help move it over and was a disaster. What I’m wondering is:
-How hard is it to move a large blog with over 1,000 posts from the free WordPress to self-hosting? I also have over 10,000 images in my blog and that posed a huge problem when I last tried (The woman I hired could not get them to download right and the formatting was a disaster).
– Can I keep the exact same theme and have the layout look exactly the same?
-How easy is it if I follow the steps you provide?
The main reason why I want to move over is to get Google Analytics. I need to be able to tell potential sponsors how many views I’m getting and they are asking for GA. I am very hesitant to move since last time it was such a disaster! I am also very nervous to try following the steps above and doing it myself. Does WP offer any kind of paid solution where I could get help moving it and also technical support once it changes if I need it? Thanks so much! NicoleThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy @thirdeyemom!
What you need is a “Guided Transfer”. You can pay to have a WordPress staff member move your site from WordPress.com to a self hosted WordPress site.
Check out this support document to learn more: https://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/
I hope this helps you! Have a great day!
