Questions about paid plans…..

  Greetings,

  I am a Cambridge AICE Media teacher, and my students have been using wordpress to create and host their portfolio blogs which include pictures, text, and short film projects. Last year we made use of wordpress and did not need to pay to host video. This year we do. I have a few questions:
  >Is there any way we can use wordpress to host student work for the the next 6-9 months for free?
  >If not, since we only need wordpress to host student work until December 2023, if our program pays for the personal plan ($4/month) for each student–can we have that pro rated instead of paying for a year?
  >Is there another site you might recommend which would serve our modest means??

  Hey there, thank you for sharing what you’re hoping to do! Video uploads have always been a part of paid upgrades on our managed hosted services, and we aren’t able to offer them for free. But we absolutely do support video embeds.

  Would it work for your students to upload to another service, like YouTube or Vimeo, then embed them into the free sites? If so, they’d just copy the video URL and paste that onto its own line in a page or post.

  If you can share a link to a site that was made in a previous semester, we can take a look to determine how they were uploaded then and help you get a similar setup.
