Questions about Upgrade capabilities

  I would like to know a few things before I decide to upgrade

  1. Will I be able to remove the Blogroll category?
  2. Will I be able to arrange my widgets in the sidebar the way I want?
  3. Will I be able to use outside themes?

  There are several Upgrades – check them in your Dashboard.

  1 & 2 need no upgrade.

  0. And since you’re still unfamiliar with basic functions, I think you should spend time exploring your Dashboard and the FAQs before thinking about upgrading.

  I don’t see the need to be so nasty. I did explore the Dashboard and FAQ’s, and that’s why I was asking.

  It’s not a matter of being nasty. There is a sticky at the top of the forums, 8 Things, that you really should review. We are mostly volunteers in the forums and if you had reviewed just that one thing, you would have found your own answers.

  @greenlasagna: I’m often too concise I’m afraid; but I had no intention of being nasty – sorry if it sounded so. What I meant is that your questions 1&2 show that you are still unaware of the possibilities of a free wp.com blog, so the best thing to do would be exploring the FAQs as well as the various settings, functions and options in your dashboard, to get a better idea of what is readily available and where various things are edited.

  It’s far better you spend some time poking around the FAQ now, rather than coming back in two days saying you purchased upgrades and they don’t have the effect you wanted, etc.

  Conversations in the technical help forums are almost invariably impersonal and brusque, because volunteers have three million WP.com bloggers to support and not much time to do it in.
