Questions about WordPress premium plan/domain

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m thinking of getting a WordPress premium plan but had a few questions – does anyone know the answer to these? Thanks.

    1. Is there a bandwidth limit and what happens if the bandwidth is met?

    2. How many email addresses can I have?

    3. What control do I have over email addresses, eg spam filtering?

    4. Whose details appear when you whois the domain? Can I set it up so no-one can find my address by whoising the domain?

    5. And if I do the above – or don’t – who owns the domain, me or wordpress?

    6. How easy is it to transfer the domain later?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi –

I’m happy to help. Let me know if you have any questions about this information.

    1. Is there a bandwidth limit and what happens if the bandwidth is met?

    Nope.

    2. How many email addresses can I have?

Here is the information on using custom email addresses with your site. https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-email/
    Some options are free.

    3. What control do I have over email addresses, eg spam filtering?

That would depend entirely on which email option you chose.

    4. Whose details appear when you whois the domain? Can I set it up so no-one can find my address by whoising the domain?

The domain will be registered with privacy protection by default.

    5. And if I do the above – or don’t – who owns the domain, me or wordpress?

You own the domain. We simply act as the registrar.

    6. How easy is it to transfer the domain later?

It’s pretty easy, honestly. You can either edit the name servers to point it to a different service or transfer it outright. The second option does require that the domain is 60 days old first.
