Hello there! I am planning to start a website for services and I am wondering about a couple of things, which are quite important. First, does WordPress provide security for websites to protect from breaches or other attempts from hackers? Also, I don’t quite understand what are the limitations of the WordPress tools, for example, can I set certain commands to allow certain services only for Premium users, to create a simple platform for messages between users, to use numerous filters for a more precise search and other slightly complex tasks? Thanks!

Hi — staff here. I’m not sure what you mean by the complex commands and what not. Those features are not built into WordPress, but you can add your own plugins and functions as you like.
The caveat: to run your own custom code, or other outside plugins, you would need to either run your own copy with another host, or you would need the Business Plan here on our servers:
If you’re a developer trying to weight out whether you could create these plugins on your own, though we can’t provide support for this, I’d recommend installing your own copy of WordPress locally and experimenting with installing or writing your own plugins to accomplish the scope of the project you’re after.

Hi Supernovia, thanks for your quick response. I’m sorry if I wasn’t clear enough. Let me be more precise – the website that I am planning to build will offer job-related services. In this case, I will need to set a lot of filters so that potential candidates can narrow their search, I will also offer different services to companies posting offers, according to what they pay, I would want some of the premium features, for example, to allow chatting between candidates and companies. I’m asking whether this is possible because I’m new to WordPress and I know that such tasks might require coding or plugins as you call them. It’s not the typical e-commerce website that most people build I guess. It will take more than a great design and a few features, associated with payments, display of stock, etc. That’s why I am wondering whether WordPress is the right tool for me :).

Plugins are like extra customization options that you can use. They are pre coded, someone else has done that work, you just install them on the site as needed for the project. A live chat feature could be added with a plugin.
Do you have a link to a similar site as an example that we can have a look at? That will give us a better idea of what you’re after.
