  We are a small, non-profit state society (of DAR) and have limited funds. So far I have 2 questions. 1. to use .org do we need to use one of the paid plans? 2. what plan would we have to use I order to get rid of ads?

  You can start with the Personal plan. You can have the .org

  When you upgrade to the Personal plan. They will be removed.
