Questions concerning block editor
-
So, I’m not loving the new block editor that was forced on users and since I’m on the free account, there’s no way to install plug-ins to use the classic editor. And I have questions on the usability of this next update.
1. I currently have classic block on my posts but I’m using wordpress on my iMac, and would like to know how to get rid of all the blank/white space around the content of text (to the left and right) because it’s ridiculous how the text gets scrunched together in the center with no way to expand that out to see more of the text when I’m on a wide screen. It’s just wasted real estate and super annoying when you can’t expand that out.
2. Why does it take an extra click to switch between Visual and Code Editors now (by having to click the 3 dots to switch)? Is there a way to have it right on toolbar like we had in Classic?
3. When adding links, it’s useful to have the quick search pop-up now but why does it take an extra click that forces users to open up the Link Options in order to select the “Open link in new tab”? Why not have it defaulted or added to the links pop-up for the quick search/add URL instead of forcing the user to do extra steps? Is there a way to do this?
4. When exiting the screen where I’m editing a post, is there a way to exit where I can bypass the sidebar pop-up of recent posts when I click on the wordpress icon and go directly to the View Posts page? That’s yet another extra click.
Like, one extra click to do something isn’t much, but when there are SO MANY extra clicks needed with this new editor, I’m just finding wordpress cumbersome to use when all I want to do is make simple, clean posts, which the old Classic editor was great for.

Hello,
I’m not sure about all of the information you are looking for, but from what I have read if you go to your wp-admin (input /wp-admin after your URL), you should still be able to access the classic editor there (for the time being at least).
I hope this helps at least for now! :)
