Questions: How to Remove the "Reply" field? Any way to set up a .org AND a .com?
-
I have three questions.
1. I would like to purchase a custom .org domain through WordPress. Is there a way to also set up a .com version of the same address that will direct traffic to the .org?
2. I am building a website (not a blog) by setting up pages. Is there a way to remove the “Leave a Reply” field at the bottom of pages?
3. Is it possible to use different custom header images on different pages?Thank you,
Matt

1. Yes. You can have multiple URLs mapped to your WordPress.com site and they will all redirect to whatever domain you set as the “primary”.
Simply log into your WordPress.com site’s dashboard, click on Store–>Domains, enter whatever domain you would like to register in the “add a domain” box and click the “add domain” button. Then simply follow the instructions that appear to register your domain.
Then you can change or update your primary domain by logging into your WordPress.com site’s dashboard and going to Store–>Domains.
2. You can turn off comments using the instructions here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/
3. Typically no. There are a few themes that allow the use of featured images as the header. But in general, your header is consistent across your site.

You can register as many different domains as you’d like for one site. You will need to specify one as the primary domain (in your Dashboard, under Store > Domains), but all domains associated with your site and mapped to your underlying WordPress.com site will be directed there.
In other words, you can have mysite.org as the primary domain on mysite.wordpress.com, so that mysite.org shows up in the address bar. If you then map mysite.com and myevencoolersite.net to the same site, those domains will also go to mysite.org and the address bar will still reflect the .org address.
You can turn off comments by following the instructions here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/Note that any existing pages will need to have comments turned off manually, as this setting affects only pages you will create in the future.
Some themes will allow you to have custom headers on different pages. You can play around with the themes that have Featured Headers to see if one works for you:
