Questions New WordPress.com Plugin Policy
-
To whom it may concern:
I just discovered yesterday that the business plan user now can use quiet many plugins via WordPress.com Business Plan. Could someone please shed a light about:
1. Since when WordPress.com added options for Business Plan user to add “almost unlimited” plugins?
3. Is the amount of the mentioned plugins as same as WordPress.org repository?
4. What is the scenario for the workflow of fixing a problem of a plugin (eg, whom and where to contact?)
5. Is there someone here kind enough to share your user experience of WordPress.com Business Plans with a new plugin policy?
6. Is it possible to migrate a self-hosted WordPress CMS website with dozens of plugins installed, into WordPress.com?
7. More questions might be added later.Thank you in advance for your comments.
Regards,
BenXY

Hi BenXY,
1. Since when WordPress.com added options for Business Plan user to add “almost unlimited” plugins?
This is a new feature we launched very recently. You can now also upload custom themes too.
3. Is the amount of the mentioned plugins as same as WordPress.org repository?
Yes, you can install any plugin from the official WordPress repository through the Plugin tab in your account. Some plugins might not be ready for WordPress.com yet as this is something the plugin author will need to implement.
4. What is the scenario for the workflow of fixing a problem of a plugin (eg, whom and where to contact?)
In that instance you would need to contact the plugin author — this information is displayed on the Plugin tab.
6. Is it possible to migrate a self-hosted WordPress CMS website with dozens of plugins installed, into WordPress.com?
Yes, you can move your site over to WordPress.com. We have a guide which explains the process here:

As I mentioned above, some plugins may not be ready for WordPress.com yet. But if you have any issues, let us know and we may be able to suggest an alternative. The Business plan provides Live Chat and email support too so there are plenty of ways to get in touch :)
7. More questions might be added later.
That’s fine, just let me know if you need any more information!

This is a side note for myself, for the sake of future reference and data management of my online posts with same topic. There was a query made prior this one in a Facebook group “WordPress Taiwan Taditional Chinse” with an URL: https://www.facebook.com/groups/wordpresstw/permalink/1648788285148605/
